Carlos Corberán begins his tenure as Valencia CF Head Coach
The new Valencia CF coach has already started work at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna
Saturday’s opponents Real Betis are a team against whom Gonçalo Guedes has enjoyed plenty of success since joining Valencia CF. The Portuguese is keen to help the group to another victory this weekend, and continue his strong record from meetings with the Andalusians.
Guedes has played six games against Betis, of which Valencia CF have won five and drawn one. He has also scored three great goals and provided a further three assists to his teammates.
The first encounter for the midfielder against this weekend’s rivals was on October 15th, 2017, a 3-6 thriller at the Benito Villamarin. Guedes opened his account with a powerful rightfooted drive into the top corner, also setting up a teammate for another goal.
The following season, again at the Benito Villamarín, he was the scorer of one of two goals in a 1-2 triumph, and then participated in Kevin Gameiro’s goal in the most recent meeting between the two clubs at Mestalla (2-1).
Training on Thursday had the team focused on the Matchday 5 fixture, which rounds off a packed week for Valencia CF.
